01  Where should I install Safety Door Guards?

Add to office, bathroom and/or shower stall doors etc. for added privacy, as well as safety. Our Preventive & protective Safety Door Guards should be installed on all doors that children and vulnerable adults pass by or through. Each door that children and vulnerable adults pass through requires a Push-side and a Pull-side door hinge guard to be installed to eliminate the chances of a finger-pinch injury. If a door is fitted with a continuous hinge (sometimes called a piano hinge) then a pull-side door hinge guard is not required.

 02  What's the difference between a Push-side and a Pull-side Door Guard?

When the door is closed, if you can see the hinge protruding, then this is the side that the Pull-Side Device is installed on and the Push-Side Device is installed on the opposite side.

If you Push the door away from you to open the door, then this is the side on which you will install the Push-Side Door Hinge Guard and the Pull-Side will be installed on the opposite side.

If you Pull the door towards you to open the door, then this is the side you will install the Pull-Side Door Hinge Guard and the Push-Side will be installed on the opposite side. The push-side and pull-side hinge guards are very different in design and manufacture and are not interchangeable.

Generally speaking, the front of the door is referred to as the “Push” Finger Shield and the back / rear of the door is the “Pull” Finger Shield.”

03  What are they made of?

The devices are made from uPVC and Alcyn. They are calcium-zinc stabilized and don't contain any Cadmium or lead.

04  What lengths and colors do you offer?

We stock push-side and pull-side hinge guards in two lengths, 79" for an 80" door and 83" for an 84" door and in Four colors: White, Black, Brown and Gray/Taupe. They can be cut to shorter lengths with a sharp pair of snips or strong scissors. Our Door Guards can be painted by you to match your desired color with any latex based paint. Custom orders for non-standard lengths and colors may be arranged by emailing us at itsSimpleSafety@yahoo.com or calling us at (904) 861-4644. Restrictions and Minimum purchase apply. We will try our best to meet your request.
